Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support, Full Steam Ahead 2026, R.Darko
The Burning Mirror Foundation is proud to have supported the Macmillan Cancer Support Full Steam Ahead fundraiser on 29 June. The day began with a journey from London to Margate aboard the privately hired Belmond British Pullman train, on which the historic Ibis carriage was reserved exclusively for the Burning Mirror Foundation. In Margate, an art filled day included visits to the studio of Dame Tracey Emin, Carl Freedman Gallery, TKE Studios, and Turner Contemporary.
1 in 2 people in the United Kingdom will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Macmillan Cancer Support’s work is impactful because it ensures that everyone in the UK has support for every step of their cancer journey. This support ranges from support groups to nurses to patient care advocacy to its pioneering venture capital fund that invests in companies at the forefront of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Macmillan’s work directly facilitates better outcomes in cancer treatment courses by ensuring patients are fully supported. Full Steam Ahead aligns with the Burning Mirror Foundation’s mission of using arts and culture to benefit health and wellbeing related causes, harnessing the power of art to capitalise vital work and investments in cancer care.
